I have trimmed a 20 minute file down to about 1:40, where it seems to be having problems. The view in Windows Media Player starts to act up and then it shuts down. I can duplicate it by playing the same segment in the HyperCam editor. I was using the defaults when I recorded the segment.
There may be a problem with Lotus Quickplace, as that seems to be where the problem occurs in my recording. Nothing shows up when the recording is taking place, but you will see in the segment that I send that the image starts to get interference at the point when I try to publish a page in Quickplace.
How do I send the segment to you?
Dmitry Vergeles:
Hi gwinter6,
There is no limits for AVI files being reated by HyperCam. The only possible restriction can be caused by Fat32 file system, that is 4 GB size.
What codec did you use? if the WMP fails to play the file of any length, could you send us a one minute sample to check?

I have tried to record a process four times now, and each time I get an error in Windows Media Player. Granted it is a fairly long process with many window changes. At one point the recording resulted in a 1GB file, but I didn't get anywhere near the end. The last time I tried, it failed at about 9 minutes into the process.
Is there a logical limit to how much can be recorded, either by wall time or file size?
