Title: Seeking simple (and hopefully, free) video splitting/editing software for H-264
Post by: viprit on February 28, 2019, 06:29:36 PM
Dabbler, here. I've been rooting around, trying to sort this out for a while, now...figure if there's an answer, it's likely on reddit. I have some video (1920 x 1080, 320 kbps) recorded via a Logitech C920, that I would like to trim (editing features a bonus) and save in lossless format. VSDC does o.k. with the video, but downsamples the audio to 223 kbps for some reason (waiting to hear back from them on that one) and while SolveigMM Video Splitter does the trick, it's trialware and I currently don't have $50USD in the budget for software. So, I'm searching for freeware - does such a beast exist, or does anyone have any alternate assistance to offer? Oh yeah, running Windows 7, 64-bit, if that helps.

Hello viprit,
If you've captured your video with HyperCam, you can edit your video as well. HyperCam installer also contains a HC Media Editor, which allows you to edit your recordings.
Also, you can check the AVI Trimmer+ (http://www.solveigmm.com/en/products/avi-trimmer-mkv/), but it only provide a GOP-accuracy mode.
