Video Splitter / Re: New Timeline is not better / feedback for 7.3
« on: August 22, 2019, 01:42:23 AM »
Hi,

I come from using 6 and have figured out how to us 7.3 to mark sections as cut, but there is one thing I am not sure of.

In version 6, when selecting to cut something and then marking begin and end, that piece of cut video would show collapsed on the timeline and when I pressed play, the video would skip the cut section and I would see what the finished product would look like.

Now, it leaves the cut section uncollapsed and tinted with red and when playing, still plays the cut section.  When outputting the video, the final result does remove the cut sections, though.

Is there a way to toggle having the playback skip the cut sections so that I can view how the video will ultimately be saved?
i come from 6 too but the collapsed video always plays when i see what it will look like apology i am wrong collapsed does not play

6 was better but no mkv sound .

OK see now re

The cut-intervals automatically collapsed when you work in a "Cut" mode.
and

You can collapse the cut interval manually in your mode - just double-click the cut interval and you'll see how collapsing works.

Hello isurfsafe,
Unfortunately, the "OPUS" audio is not supported by Video Splitter at this time. I'll let you know whenever the support for this type of audio is implemented.

it only shows the video way off center and to the upper left
That looks to me like when the loaded video appears. i have that

Quote
The video player has a central purple box with black on both sides of the purple box
i cannot see a purple box with black sides?
The only part missing seems to me to be the large preview screen . Did you try this " Please try to go to Tools -> Preferences -> Playback Settings tab and select other video renderers" at http://www.solveigmm.com/forum/index.php?topic=4805.0

Is it an unusual video. google media info and see is it any different to other video

Video Splitter / selecting part to delete
« on: August 30, 2018, 03:39:50 AM »
How do you know which is the selected part with video splitter 6.1.1705.18?  what does collapse mean?. is collapsed part  the darker part - the part to delete?.
Also when i select the End  marker the marker goes all the way to then end of the video not to where the cursor is?
The pdf says
After placing the End Marker the selected fragment will be collapsed. So you will see the special one line instead of two lines of Begin/End Marker depicts the collapsed fragment.
What is the special one line instead of two lines?

Good program. Far too complicated. I suggest you put a green filter  over the parts that will be saved and a red filter over the parts that will be deleted like this https://ibb.co/hKRf59

Video Splitter / Re: screenshot option
« on: January 26, 2018, 01:33:06 AM »
Hello isurfsafe,

I'm sorry for the delay in replying.

I'd like to explain that Video Splitter's main goal is to edit the Video/Audio file preserving the source video quality and it works without re-encoding. That is why we currently do not support any kind of transitions and effects. Adding frames to video involves re-encoding and could possibly cause the synchronization issues with the audio. That is why Video Splitter does not have such feature now.
However, we have an utility, which can combine multiple pictures of the same width and height to a video file.

Please check the the following topic:
http://www.solveigmm.com/forum/index.php?topic=2411
ok why does video splitter have the option to take screenshots then? what does one do with them?
