An update has been posted.

I think the clip size (reported in the bottom left-hand corner) is not updated after the first clip.

E.g. Open clip A with length 20 mins. Clip length of 20 mins is reported.
      Open clip B with length 25 mins. Clip length of 20 mins is reported.
      Open clip C with length 15 mins. Clip length of 20 mins is reported.
 
I am using version 2.2.1006.29 from the link above.

I have noticed an issue if I open a file of type A, trim it, then open a file of type B (different from File A) and try to trim it.

For example:

  1. Open File A (.wmv for example)
  2. Perform a Trim operation (successful)
  3. Open File B (different type from File A - e.g. xvid or .avi)
  4. Select parts to split (ok)
  5. Attempt to perform a Trim operation - unsuccessful with following error:

       Can't start trim process ( HRESULT:0xc00d0026 ).

If I close the Splitter instance, open a new instance and perform the splitting operation on File B it is successful.

Please see if this issue can be reproduced?

These problems should be solved in an updated version.

First of all please download the new version(link is the same, posted in a topic start). If it doesnt solve the problem, please do the following:
1. Enable logging. Download the logging.zip from here: http://solveigmm.com/files/logging.zip and extract it. Inside you'll find 2 files that would enable and disable log-writing accordingly.
2. Right-click the Enable.reg and choose Merge to add an information to registry. Now the log-file would be written and placed in the same directory where the SMMVSplitter.exe is(it is called SMMVSplitter.exeinstance.log).
3. Reproduce the error and send the resulting log file to our support(support address can be found here http://solveigmm.com/?Support&id=Feedback ) or to me directly. In your letter do not forget to point the installation version you use.

When you no longer need logging disable it (repeat steps 1-2 using file Disable.reg instead)

Addition:
We're working with this problem. Currently you can activate plug-in running the Registrator "As Administrator".
Right-click the ""Register product" menu in "Start->All Programs->Solveig Multimedia->SolveigMM WMP Trimmer Plug-In" and choose "Run As Administrator".

Could you please explain your problem a little more specifically. If I could understand correctly, the WMP adds files to the library itself when you open the file. Plug-in does nothing with file except trimming.

We are currently implementing an AVI frame-accurate trimming. Once it would be implemented, a Windows Media files trimming should be added soon. I suppose, the feature would be added in a couple of weeks.

Frst of all, please try the most recent beta testing build (http://solveigmm.com/files/SolveigMM_Video_Splitter_2_2_beta_se.zip) and if it doesn't solve your problem please send a small sample of your file to tech support if that's possible. It would be much easier to find the problem out.

Sorry for delayed answer, we had some troubles with our e-mail system. As for your registration problem I suppose you use HyperCam installer version 3.0.912.7. If so, please update it with the latest version from here http://www.solveigmm.com/?Products&id=HyperCam  (currently it is 3.0.912.18), this should help you.

Hello Mike,
Please make a small test: download and extract the dependency walker utility http://solveigmm.com/files/depend.zip
and also the Editing Engine itself http://solveigmm.com/files/SMM_EditEngine.dll

Open Depends.exe and drag-n-drop the SMM_EditEngine.dll there. Then click 'File' and choose "Save As.." menu. As a result you'll get the .dwi file. Please send a letter with this file to our support (support(at)solveigmm(dot)com).

Here is the sample script.

"group name" should contain the output file name.
"clip src" should contain names of files to be joined.
"track out_type" should be identifier of the output file type. The following types are available:
mpa - for MPEG 1-2 audio files;
avi - for AVI files;
asf - for ASF, WMV, WMA files;
mpg1_sys - for MPEG 1 files.

However this method is still unsafe, because files should be verified for compatibility first. You should use it only when sure the files are compatible.

Thanks, that did the trick!  I did have 2.2 downloaded, but the join manager isn't in manual, so the manual must be for previous version.

YES, how can I set up batch joins? Or join via a batch file.

It is possible to use SMM_BatchSplit utility to perform joining operation via command line.
As a parameter you'll need to pass the name of xtl file with valid information about joining. The safest way to obtain such file is to save it from join manager. Or you can make this file manually.
