Title: The File Type is not supported

So I am trying to just change the start time and stop time of my video, but when I use the utility, it comes up with an error that says "File type is not supported", then it gives me a list of approved file types. The file is currently saved as a WMV, and it will not let me edit. I have since converted to an AVI and an MPEG and have the same results.
What am I doing wrong?

Say please if WMV files are displaying in  Windows Media Player itself?
Could you please send to  support@solveigmm.com a Screenshot of this error?
