Hi davema88,

Thank you for good news.

We have updated the Video Splitter Business Edition with the SMM_CustomEncoder.dll with which the product works without issues you have reported. The product is available at the link below:

Hi Olga,

Thanks for your reply.  I have replaced the file SMM_CustomEncoder.dll as requested.  I am able now to click preferences.  Please find below logs:

SMM_CustomEncoder.log
SMM_EditingEngine_TrimObj.log
SMM_OCXSlider.log
SolveigMM Video Splitter Business Edition.log
DxDiag.txt

Please click on the link below to get the logs in folder:

[Link now deleted]

Thanks.

By the way - I have just tried loading a video file and it now seems to be working! Changing  SMM_CustomEncoder.dll seemed to have corrected the problem.

Hello davema88,

We need "SMM_CustomEncoder.log" file.

Please try to record log files again.

First of all please replace SMM_CustomEncoder.dll from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Solveig Multimedia\SMM_CustomEncoder.dll" to the one available from the link below:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9992211/SMM_CustomEncoder.dll

Then please
1) Open Video Splitter
2) Enable log files recording.
3) Go to Tool->Preferences.
4) Send us all log files that will be created.

Could you please also send information about DirectX components on your PC?

To get them please go to Start -> Run, enter "dxdiag.exe" to the open window and then on the "Save All Information" button.

Please send us DxDiag.txt file that will be created.

Thank you.

Hi Olga,

1. All other media players work fine including Free Video Editor (third party product).
2. When I open a video file, nothing happens, no picture, no response.  Program does not freeze and does not cause windows to freeze.
3. When I click Preferences, I get window saying "SolveigMM Video Splitter has stopped working - Windows is checking for a solution to this".
4. Please find below log of  SolveigMM Video Splitter Business Edition:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~CLogger::CreateLog~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Installation Version: 4.0.1410.2
CAVITrimmerAppView::OnFileInput - IN
{
CAVITrimmerAppView::InitFileName - IN
{
   OnFileInput - m_DropFileName.IsEmpty()
   CDialogOpenSourceFile *pOpenFDlg = new CDialogOpenSourceFile
CDialogOpenSourceFile ::OnInitDialog
CDialogOpenSourceFile ::DoDataExchange
CDialogOpenSourceFile::OnSize
CDialogOpenSourceFile::OnFileNameChange()
CDialogOpenSourceFile::UpdateCheckbox
   pOpenFDlg->DoModal()
source_file_name=C:\Downloads\The.Blacklist.S02E05.720p.x264.mkv
CAVITrimmerAppView::LoadFile
CAVITrimmerAppView::InitFiltersList
CAVITrimmerAppView::InitFiltersList
This log was created after loading a video file (nothing happens) and then clicking Preferences.  From past experience of successful loading of video files, there should be more command lines.
Hope this helps.
Regards.
Hi davema88,
Thank you for your reply.
Please let us know what exactly happens when you try to open the file in Video Splitter?
Please check if Windows Media Player and Media Player Classic works ok at your end. If there are any issues with COM objects then in other applications, such as these players, can be problems.
If these players works ok, then please record and send us log files from Video Splitter, for two occasions: when you open the file and when you click on Preferences. Here is how to get them:
http://www.solveigmm.com/en/faq/how-to-record-log-files-of-solveigmm-video-splitter/
Thank you in advance.
Hi Olga,
Thanks for your help.  I have tried to reinstall the product and the beta as you suggest and checking that there are no files after uninstall.  This did not help.  The same thing occurs - can not load and crashes when clicking preferences.  Could it be something to do with COM, VB or .NET?
Thanks again.
Hi davema88,
Please try to reinstall the product.
At first you need complitely uninstall it from your PC. Use Start ->  Programs -> Solveig Multimedia -> SolveigMM Video Splitter -> Uninstall or  uninstall it via the Windows Control Panel.
Please check that theere are no files after uninstallation in the folders
"C:\Program Files\Solveig Multimedia\SolveigMM Video Splitter Business Edition"
and
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Solveig Multimedia"
If there will be any files in this folders please delete them manually from these folders.
Then you could install the product again.
You can try to install the beta version of the product:
http://www.solveigmm.com/download/SolveigMM_Video_Splitter_Business_Edition_4_0_Beta.exe
Will this help?
Hi,
I am using SolveigMM Video Splitter Business Edition EVALUATION version 4.0.1401.28 on win 7 x64.  Everything worked fine until the latest windows update.  After the update, when starting the program, the start seems normal but cannot load any videos - avi,wmv,mp4..etc.  Also when going to "preferences" the program stopped working entirely and windows closed the program.  When I restore to pre update state, the program works fine again so nothing to do with the codecs.  Do you know why windows update or which component update causes the program to crash and how to resolve this. Thanks.
