Bug: The issue of inaccurate video segmentation in Webm format

(1/1)

Olga Krovyakova:
Hello Linson,

Thank you for your post.

Unfortunately frame accuracy editing is not yet available for vp9 codec files.
As soon as we add such support to Video Splitter, we will post the news here.

Thank you for your patience.

Linson:
Hello, I have downloaded the latest version of "SolveigMM_Video-Splitter_x64_8:0_2403_26" and found that the frame precision editing of the VP9 codec has not been fixed yet. May I know when this issue can be resolved

Olga Krovyakova:
Hello Linson,

Thank you for your post.

The WebM that you have sent us contains VP9 video track.

Such videos could be edited at the present time only with K-frame accuracy. It means that the video will be started with the key frame and not the frame that you have selected, so you can get not accurate result on output files.

More about K-frame editing and frame accurate editing can be found here:

https://www.solveigmm.com/en/howto/video-splitter-inaccurate-splitting/

We will possibly add frame accurate editing for VP9 codec to Video Splitter's next releases.

Linson:
When segmenting Webm format videos, precise segmentation cannot be achieved, resulting in an additional 2-3 seconds compared to the desired duration. This is only true when segmenting Webm format videos, and other formats are fine. Please fix the issue of inaccurate video segmentation in Webm format. Thank you. The encoder, video, and project files required for Webm format have been packaged and sent to you. Please check, thank you.
