Title: can't render video stream (DIVX)

I am trying the trial version. Whenever I try to open an avi file always get the message "can't render video stream (DIVX)."
Suggestions?

This message caused by an absence of DIVX or whatever decoder on your PC. If you download and install it, preview should get started to work.
