Title: codec changed?
Post by: ad_killer on May 05, 2010, 09:55:03 PM
I used Splitter 2.1.812.17 before on a different PC to split my recorded movies. And had no problems running those mpg files on my media player markus 800. After changing the PC (and moving from XP to Win7), I installed v. 2.1.902.3 which creates mpg files, not running any longer on my media player.

Any idea, what has changed in your splitter? causing those problems?

Hi ad_killer,

First os all I would suggest to try the recent version 2.2.1005.4:

Hi Dimitry,

I tried this version also - with no luck.
I also experienced with  2.2.1005.4 and  2.1.912.22 that the final cut of a movie does not any longer match to the markers I set.
It seems that it is always shifted for a couple of minutes (1-2 min)

So I was a real fan of your splitter, but right now, I need some success to make me a believer again :-)

Always open for good ideas,

Hi ad_killer,

Well, the only way to replicate and fix all the mentioned problems is to have our original files at our end?
Could you upload us them or send by post?

Hi Dmitri,

could be that I found the reason for the fact, being unable to run splitted files onmy media player, for files created with 2.1.902.3:
it looks that the time index is not properly set with this version, even if I create an index before splitting.
(fyi: with the old version 2.1.812.17, I never worked with created indexes - and everything went fine)

Right now I am playing with 2.2.1005.4 and will come back to you when I have news.

Keep you posted,
