Hello keiooz,

Thank you for the question.

The trial version of Video Splitter beta could be downloaded from this link:

http://www.solveigmm.com/download/SolveigMM_Video_Splitter_3_0_Beta.exe

The evaluation period is 21 days, the same as for the standard official version.

Yes it does!! A few tests and all is working exactly as it should, I've loaded some files, cut out ads and resaved with no problems.

Thanks for that, just the tool for me.

I don't know if you've found the problem yet, but I have similar issues.  Some additional things I've observed that may help with troubleshooting: Files made with MakeMKV also lock.  With both MakeMKV and those processed by Handbrake, not including the audio stream allows the file to load.  Even with the audio stream, re-muxing Handbrake-encoded files using mkvMerge allows the file to load.  This does not work with Make MKV files.  Occasionally, editing the re-muxed Handbrake files produces minor to moderate artifacts (a scrambled first keyframe and distorted/missing audio appx 15 seconds before the point where the file was cut.  The artifacts only occur with files where Handbrake did not automatically recognize and include the audio, forcing me to manually add the track.

I've only tested this on 64-bit Win 7.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help on this appreciate it; if this software works it will be great.

I'm not sure what to do, I have hundreds of mkv files, and the program crashes on trying to open any single one of them. I've uploaded a small one as follows.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/67030489/R168-1.mkv

All my mkv files were created using Handbrake.

I have now tried to install on a Windows XP and Windows 7 machine and exactly the same outcome.

Hello Brett,

Could you please upload your mkv file anywhere (e.g. to dropbox.com) for we could reproduce the problem on our end?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there

I was using version 3.0.1203.7; however the Beta version also crashes. This is before a file has even been loaded.

The log files mainly look normal, for example the editing engine log reads:

Try to open the file for reading begin.
D:\MKVEdits\Wp21v2-1.mkv
Try to open the file for reading is ok.

However the splitter log stops abruptly with:

CMpegPlayerAdv::BuildGraph-IN
{
   BuildGraph: Build7

I have tried a few mkv files with the same outcome. Happy to upload the files, but I don't think I'm even getting to that stage where the file is a problem.

Regards Brett

Hello bhwsyd,

Thanks for contacting us.

Do you use the 3.0.1203.7 version?
Could you please try the Beta available from the link below, will the problem remain?

http://www.solveigmm.com/download/SolveigMM_Video_Splitter_3_0_Beta.exe

If this will not help, could you please send us your original file (e.g. via dropbox.com) and specify please start and stop positions of the chosen fragment(s)?

The log files will be also appreciated.

Here is how to record them.

Hey guys

A tremendous product, just what I need after transferring old sports games off VHS, filter them through VirtualDub and use Handbrake to create an mkv file.

Just trialled the latest version of video splitter and afraid it crashes whenever I open a video or project file. A previous version loaded and allowed me to set up the cuts (cutting out ads) but got stuck when creating the output file.

Interested in whether I can provide any information to help.
