Title: Error when joining m4v (H.264)
Post by: cheerful on June 10, 2012, 08:26:01 AM
The m4v are originally produced by Adobe Media Encoder and cut by SolveigMM.

I got the following error:

Can't perform this task. (Unspecified error hr=0x80004005).

How could I trouble shoot?

Thanks

I've opened another thread "Splitter hangs trying to trim video".  That might the root cause.  Once that's resolved, I will come back and retest it.

The problem remains with the latest version.  I can't reproduce it with short files.  It's over 8 GB.  Is there any way I can get a debug dump for investigation?

Thanks

Hi cheerful,

Does it only happen with a big files ~8 GB? If you try to trim if from beginning to end at what percantage the trimming hangs?

If you can't upload us an original may be you could replicate it by merging severall smaller file to some big one. If  the issue is repeated you could upload us a small file.

There is no error with trimming with the new version.

However, the join still errors out.  Yes, the first file is large, 8,355,233 KB.

Could you send us a small sample of such a file that you make by Adobe Media Encoder?

It's the same sample I uploaded for the trimming problem thread.  However, that trim problem is gone in the new version.  Yet the joining problem remains with large files (8GB).  I can't find a small files to reproduce this problem.  Is there any way to produce some detailed logs?

Thanks

Hi cheerful,

Thank you for your answer. Yes, the log files could be helpful for us.
Please take a look on this page (http://www.solveigmm.com/en/faq/how-to-record-log-files-of-solveigmm-video-splitter/) to record them properly.

If the problem will be reproduced on the small file in future, it will be great if you could upload it for us.

Thank you in advance.
