Title: Error when trying to cut some wmv files
Post by: John51341 on August 06, 2015, 03:36:05 PM
When trying to cut certain .wmv files I get this error "Invalid or corrupt data was encountered hr=0xc00d002f"

It doesn't happen with all .wmv files just some, and the ones it does happen to can never be cut. I'm using the business splitter version 5.0.1503.17

Hello John51341,
Thank you for your post.

First of all, please try to process your problem file with the latest beta version:
http://www.solveigmm.com/files/SolveigMM_Video_Splitter_Business_Edition_5_0_1506_30_Beta.exe (http://www.solveigmm.com/files/SolveigMM_Video_Splitter_Business_Edition_5_0_1506_30_Beta.exe)

If this won't help, please such files to our technical support.
http://www.solveigmm.com/en/support/ (http://www.solveigmm.com/en/support/)
It would be much faster to resolve the issue if we could reproduce it.
If the file is big enough you could use any file sharing service.

The latest beta has the same problem.

The file provided is broken. Please try to use any WMV/ASF repairing tools to fix the video, then trim it.

Ok I see. The video plays perfectly from start to end in VLC. Is there a way for the video splitter to have tolerance to whatever the issue was with the video? Because as I said, whatever the problem was, VLC plays it anyway without caring.

VLC uses its own filters to play video. Unlike VLC, Microsoft DirectShow filter (WM ASF Reader) detects the error. We use the same filter in our video splitter so the error persists is it.
