Title: Joined MTS file playable only in SolveigMM
Post by: danfm on June 17, 2015, 11:12:23 AM

Splitting a file works well and the fragments can be played in other players.
However, when I join two MTS files, the newly created MTS file is playable only in SolveigMM. Neither WMP nor VLC can play it.
How can I fix that?
Thanks

Hello danfm,

Thank you for your post.

Could you please let me know what Video Splitter version you use at the present time?

You can check the version number at the Help -> About SolveigMM Video Splitter.

Regrettably I've not reproduced the same issue at our end with our files on the version 5.0.1503.17 and the latest beta (http://www.solveigmm.com/download/SolveigMM_Video_Splitter_Home_Edition_5_0_Beta.exe). Could you please upload files you have tried to join to any file host service, e.g. Google drive or Dropbox.com?

Please let me know also your operating system.

Thank you a lot in advance.

Thanks for looking into it.
I was using the earlier version, not the 5.0. The OS is Win 8.1 with Nvidia.

In the meantime, I have found a fix/workaround for it ( after many hours).
Once I create the  joined MTS file, if I load it from the disk after that into Solveig and execute a fake split i.e. select the whole clip and click "Trim" and save it, that file becomes playable in all players.
Not sure why that works but it does and that is all it matters to me.

Thanks for a nice clean video tool.
