Title: Problem with saving a clip
Post by: Titu on November 12, 2009, 04:09:08 PM
Hi,

I bought SolveigMM online and installed on my computer. I marked a segment of 9 mins from a 53 mins WMV file and saved it using "Save the Selected Segment". When I played the saved segment, it played only for a fraction of second and not for 9 mins. I tried many times using different options, but no luck. I am usning Windows 7.

Earlier, I used the same software as a 21 days trial version on my older computer which had Windows XP. The program worked so well that I did not buy any other splitter though they were still cheaper than SolveignMM.

Help me and please make me understand why the file is not being saved for its full length.

Hello Richard,

Thank you for contacting us.

Does Splitter deliver any error message during trimming? It would be helpfully if you upload us your original file to check the problem on our side.

You can unload it to either ftp (details were posted by email) or any file sharing service like www.yousendit.com ?

NO. The Splitter does not give any message at the time of splitting or saving. I select the option of "Save as Selected Segment" i.e. the top option on the page, when I right click on the selected segment. It starts saving and shows the blue bar filling in moving towards 100%. It shows me the count starting from 0% moving towards 100%, but when it reaches at 50% the bar suddenly disappears. The size of the saved file is around 50 KB. Whereas size of 9 mins WMV can be to 50 KB.

But I am surprised that when I used the same software as a trial version, it never gave me any problem. That's why I decided to buy this software.

Thanks for sending me another version. But the problem is still the same. It did not save the segment again.

How do I unload file for you on ftp. I tried but could not figure out. Could you please email me steps to unload the file on ftp?

Thanks

Hi,

I checked website www.yousendit.com. It charges $10/- if a file is more than 100 mb.

I would be grateful to you, if you could email me the steps to unload on ftp.

You can use  Microsoft Internet explorer.
Type ftp://ftp.elecard.net.ru/, then go to menu->View->Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer.
Then you will be asked for login and password we have sent you before.

Hi Dmitry,

I tried to reply in PM, but I received an error that "I was not allowed to".

File has been uploaded as "Dann-Shannyn..."

To reproduce the crash, open the file, press Right-arrow twice, Add marker, cut off the end of the movie, and then Trim.

Apologies for the content.
