Hi,
I am trying to edit .mkv (720p) files (file sizes range from 500-600 MB). But it gets stuck during the "Now splitting the sequence" process after I press the Save button. It just goes on and on and never completes.
It doesn't make sense because about 2 days ago I was able to successfully edit videos with the same specifications (mks, 720p etc...).
Can anyone help me? I'm using the trial version of the Home edition.
Thanks

Hello irene188,
Unfortunately this issue is still in our "to do" list. As soon as the bug will be resolved and product updated I'll write here.
Thank you for your patience.

Is it an AVC (h.264 format) or an HEVC encoded file. You can easily check this with MediaInfo.

Hi, they are AVC.

SolveigMM Video Splitter Home Edition
Installed Version: 7.0.1901.23
Version 7.0.1812.21
with Windows 7.
The same thing has happened to me a few days ago. After cutting a sequence and selecting Save, the program crashes, or starts and never finishes. I've tried these formats: MPEG-4. AVC and MKV. HEVC which always used to work.

Hello collins75,
This bug is still in our "to do" list. As soon as the fix will be ready, we will post here the updated version.

The to do list has not had its turn since many versions now.
For everybody who encounters this bug as frequently as I do, a workaround is to add few seconds to either end of the clip and it will work at some point. But still the output may not be in sync so you may have to separate the tracks and combine them again through another program like mkvtoolnix to make it work perfectly.

I have downloaded the demo version of the software.
It is exactly what I need to grab many 90 to 120 minutes Hi8 tapes and split them into logical and more manageable files.
However, on a trial on a small section of a captured file trying to only split into two or three files I get the same "Now splitting the sequence" for ages on a relatively well specification laptop. In fact I cancelled the process and gave up.
So, why I would love to purchase, I cant because it is currently unusable.
Is there any progress on this issue?
Thank you.

Hello PRH,
Thank you for your post.
Do you get this error with the MKV file?
If not, could you please send us the original input file that you open in Video Splitter and the project file? You can upload it to any file sharing service, e.g. Google drive (https://drive.google.com (https://drive.google.com)) or Wetransfer.com (http://Wetransfer.com).
To get the project file open the input file in Video Splitter, set fragments for saving and deleting then go to File menu -> Save project as and select folder to save the project file.
If you get it with MKV file, then this issue is regrettably not yet fixed.

Hi - thank you.
The file is a VOB file, have tried other formats though not MKV.
The test video file is only 788MB, I dont have a Google account so can I email it to you with the Project file?
My evaluation version only has one day left on it.

:( Hi Olga, this is years now that this issue has been reported... at least, can we have an explanation to why it's not fixed after so much time ? (please, an another better explanation than "it's on our to do list".).
This issue happens with Mp4 / H264 file too. it seems to be related to external subtitle (Srt) as if i remove the subtitle, the file is processed normally. Waiting since so long that this will be fixed :(.
Thanks.

I installed this update yesterday and still have the issue. any idea ? :( if i uncheck the subitle stream (Mp4 or MKV + external Srt file) the processing work ok. it seems it's the subtitle track which block the process... :(.

Hello Marty,
Thank you for your reply.
Could you please upload sample file with srt subtitle file to any file host service, e.g. Google drive (drive.google.com (http://drive.google.com))?
