Hi - I'm a new user as of yesterday. I'm having problems with crashes when loading mp4's from a Sony A7rii
System specs - Windows 10 Home (x64)/Gigabyte Z170-HD3-CF MB/Intel i7-6700K/32 GB DDR4/Radeon RX 470 8GB DDR5/3 x SSD Hdd's/NEC PA302W monitor
Fressh Windows 10 install with all updates - no problems using the same mp4's in Adobe Photoshop, Media Encoder, Premiere Pro, Da Vinci Resolve, etc
Have reinstalled latest version of Video Splitter
Below is a link to a screenshot and Mediainfo printout

Would appreciate your advice

It's also crashing with the same error while navigating the timeline and setting in/out points for avi's
Clicking in apparently random areas of the interface cause it to maximise/restore down
The recovery operation only works intermittently
The scroll bar doesn't work reliably - sometimes it restores down the whole interface, and then drags it around the desktop
Are these all related problems, or is the software very buggy?

Hello stiffwin,
Thank you for your post.
Please try to use version available for the download from the link below:
http://www.solveigmm.com/download/SolveigMM_Video_Splitter_Home_Edition_6_1_Beta.exe (http://www.solveigmm.com/download/SolveigMM_Video_Splitter_Home_Edition_6_1_Beta.exe)
If the issue remains with this version, could you please upload for us sample mp4's and an avi file? You can use e.g. Google drive or Dropbox.com to upload the files.
Am I right that the crash happens on the opening mp4 files in the Media list?

Thanks for your response - unfortunately VS is still crashing with the beta version......here is a link to an example of the mp4's that cause the crash: https://www.dropbox.com/s/f9cpks9u3w3u6s3/C0007.MP4?dl=0
I can't find a consistent sequence for the crash - it crashes when loading files into the timeline, but it doesn't happen with the same file. I have tried loading several files at once - VS crashes. I have tried loading single files consecutively and eventually it crashes - but not on the same file.
GoPro mp4's don't seem to cause crashes. Unfortunately I bought VS for the Sony A7Rii mp4's, as GoPro Studio doesn't work with them.

Hello stiffwin,
Thank you for your reply and the file.
I've tried to reproduce this issue at our end, but regrettably without success.
The file is opened is Video Splitter without any problems.
Could you please record and send us log files for we could find out the issue reason? You can send them to support(at)solveigmm.com.
Here is how to get them:

Hello stiffwin,
Thank you for the log files, unfortunately they we not so helpful for us.
Could you please write us email to support(at)solveigmm.com?
We will send you special version for test.
Also you say that this crash happens when you load several files to the timeline.
Maybe you can also send us all these files and describe your sequence of actions?
-
I have emailed as requested.
The sequence of actions is: Open VS - Add files either to the Media Library and then to the timeline, or directly to the timeline. VS crashes while loading files to the timeline. I've tried dragging files and using Ctrl + O - same result.
Here is the link to the mp4's: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/2pof7hgluolwyne/AADiT7CmIfaPU9zIgZ3pNutFa?dl=0
Looking fwd to your special version.
Cheers,
Steve
