Hi,

No success with the CoreAAC directshow filter.

I also reloaded the K-lite Mega Mega Codec Pack but chose version 7.50 available from

http://www.codecguide.com/download_mega_old.htm

The ffdshow audio configuration listed the libfaad audio codec as installed, but still no luck.

Further thoughts welcomed. The MP4 file was generated using a Kodak Playsport camcorder. In SolveigMM Video Splitter, the video is listed as MPEG4 AVC and audio as AAC.

Thanks

Hello mf998,

Thank you for your post.

Please try to install CoreAAC directshow filter and let us know if the problem remains.

Also I've edited screenshots in my previous post.

I seem to be having a similar problem with Video Splitter 2.4 beta

When trying to upload a .mp4 file with aac video codec I also get the message

"canĀ“t render an audio stream (AAC)"

Looking at the ffdshow audio decoder configuration the AAC codec is specified as libavcodec rather than the libfaad2 codec stated above. This seems standard in the latest version of K-lite codec pack 7.6.0 which states

ffdshow now uses libavcodec instead of libfaad2 for decoding AAC

Can anyone recommend a way around this?

Thanks

Hello tommy123,

Thank you for your question.

Please make sure that there were chosen such settings during K-Lite Codec Pack installation (advanced mode):

Hello I have installed the newest Version of K-Lite Code Pack 7 and AAC libfad 2 is enabled, but when  I open *. mp4 Files with Video Splitter it open not the symbol ffdshow audiodecoder, in the Task  and when I open a *.mp 4 File there comes the message  canĀ“t render an audio stream (AAC)" and I have no sound,  when I open a *.avi File   the symbol   "ffdshow audiodecoder" open in the Task and I have sound.
Sorry for my english I am from Austria.

Travolter, please check if you have AAC codec installed and used on your PC.

You can check it using e.g. K-Lite Codec Pack (Start -> All programs -> K-Lite Codec Pack -> Configuration -> ffdshow audio decoder) - see the screenshot below:

Hi Olga,
I downloaded latest beta version (.10) and its working perfectly now :) The ffdshow audio AAC settings was configured as your picture before and after this beta .10.

thanks for fix it ;)

Hello Nuser and Travolter,

Thanks for your questions.

Nuser, it is supposed to edit wmv/asf files with wvc1 video with GOP accuracy, unfortunately the smart editing of such files is not available at the present time.  Do you have some problems with editing of those files, if yes,  could you please describe it more detailed?

Travolter, please check if you have AAC codec installed and used on your PC.

Hi.. I was testing this new version with some mp4 videos.. and I get problems in certain videos like the ones that you can download from Vimeo.

I was testing with this file:http://vimeo.com/24837810

when I open it I get a  message box....
"canĀ“t render an audio stream (AAC)"

... and SolveigMM video spliter become "freezed" after it. An Elecard logo appear in the main frame but I have to kill the app because program is freezed.

This file works perfectly under Avidemux and I can edit it easily without any codec installed in my PC.

My system is XP. I have FFdshow and Haali splitter installed. In FFdshow I have the AAC audio settings asigned to be decoded by ffdshow.
Maybe I need to install a special audio/video plugin? other splitter?

This problem happen with other mp4 files.

I hope this bug report will help to improve the program.
