Video Splitter / Any chance of .mpg support in Video Splitter?

I was wondering if, seeing as this post was about two and a half months ago, there was actually a release of Video Splitter with mpeg-2 support. I cannot find a single mention of it except in this thread, but I am still hoping this is something that actually happened.

If you know any news about this, or know where to find it, I would really appreciate your help!

"C:\Program Files\Solveig Multimedia\SolveigMM AVI Trimmer" folder to replace an old smm_trimmer.ax,.

hi,
just trying the trial version of v.1.2.705.7

got a 535mg avi, set a middle section selection, marked the beginning and end sections to delete, hit the Trim button. about 75% through the save i got "the data is invalid. HRESULT :0x8007000d (unspecified error hr=0x80004005)"
:-(

tried another much smaller file, worked ok. is my big file corrupted? if was an FLV i converted to AVI. it has, i believe a vid codec of MFZ0 lossless and audio ADPCM.

hi there. i'm looking for a good AVI splitter. the Solveig one sounds good but i'm getting frustrated at downloading loads of different ones then finding they can't do what i want so can someone advise me if this will do the job please. i've got some AVI files that are VERY large (500 - 600meg) and want to split and edit them. the editor i've got at the mo just can't seem to handle them. even splitting them down in half etc, they play OK in WMP, but when i split a scene out and play it the soundtrack is quite a few seconds out of synch.
does anyone know if Solveig can handle files of this size. not bothered how many times i have to split them down to get to a reasonable size as long as the sound etc is all fine.

In fact 600 MB is usual size for AVI files and both SolveigMM AVI trimmer and SolveigMM Video Splitter should properly handle AVI files with any size including 600Mb. Please try our tools and let us know if any problems.

Hello,

I'm having a specific problem while trying to use the AVITrimmer (latest version) installed under Windows Vista. Whenever I try to further trim an AVI-file that has been trimmed before (with Solveig AVITrimmer as well), the program shuts down with the error message that "AVITrimmerApp MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close".

Is there anything I can do to overcome this problem or is cutting an already trimmed AVI-file simply not possible (though I was able to do just that with earlier versions of the program)? Or could this problem be due to Windows Vista (it wouldn't really surprise me...)?

Please describe your action in more details.

For example:
You open WMV file and save WMA track only .
Then you open resulted WMA file and afer pushing "Trim"  you have the following error:
"Can't start trim process ( Unspecified error
HRESULT: 0x80004005)"

Is the Splitter able to play and seek this file?

I have 1.2.705.4

I've only tried it with one file - a WMA that I made from the audio track of a WMV (using Solveig).  I don't need this functionality often, but I'll still buy this if it works, because it's the simplest program I've seen that does both audio/video splitting and splitting of an audio file.

Video Splitter / Re: Trims not made at the right place

I've tried using Solveig AVI trim to trim an AVI encoded with the XVid Mpeg4 codec.  

I've noticed that the trims are not made at the flags set, but usually at the nearest 10s mark prior to the start flag.  For example, if I ask for a trim starting at 15s, the resulting file will actually start at 10s.  If I ask for a trim staring at 5s, the resulting file will not be trimmed at all (seems to round down to 0s).

Is this what is meant by not having 'frame-accurate' trimming?  Is this a problem only with MPeg4?  I don't need frame-accurate, but second accurate is a must.

I just upgraded to AVI Trimmer 1.4 as in 1.2 every image that was displayed in the ActiveMovie window was upside down, but it hasn't made any difference - .AVI .DIVX - they're all the same - still upside down!

Can anyone suggest what's happening?

Thank you for feedback.
Most likely you have some DirectShow filter that is automatically inserted to a playback graph.

Could you please make a screenshot of a default graph?

For this, please download GraphEdit

Open the utility, puch menu->File->Render Media file.
Now choose an AVI you have the problem with and make a screenshot of
result filters chain and send us for analysis.
