Video Splitter / Re: Mpeg 1 Frame Accuracy

Hi,

For several years I have been searching for an SDK that could split an MPEG 1 video with frame accuracy without reencoding the video.  I hope that my search has ended.  When will your SDK have the frame accurate splitting of MPEG 1 video built into it?

In addition to frame accurate splitting, I also need the ability to join Mpeg1 video together without reencoding and to extract specified frames of video to bmp or JPEG files.

The GOP accurate splitting capability is acceptable to most except for my user base.  

Please tell me when you anticipate having the above mentioned items available in your SDK.

We already have  MPEG-2 frame accurate editing solution.
The demo version  can be sent you upon your request.

So, we could also implement MPEG1 editing by extending our existing solution. Please contact us by email to describe your application and discuss licensing scheme.

Video Splitter / Re: Frames don't update with .wmv

Hello,

When I press Previous/Next K Frame or move the slider the display doesn't update so it's impossible to set my start/end points.

This only happens with .wmv files, .avi files work great.

I am also sure my .wmv files are indexed.

I think this might be a problem on my end but I can't fix it. Here are my specs:

XP Pro (SP2)
WMP11
Latest DirectX

P4 3.0ghz
1gb Ram
9600GT video card

Please help.

A couple of questions.
1. Have you this problem with a number of WMV files or with the certain one?

2. When you drag the slider cursor by mouse along a timeline is the video vindow changed?

Hi, and thanks for taking this task so promptly.

Unfortunately this version you posted did not seem to copy any file metadata when trimming. Furthermore, the shortkey "S" did not seem to work either, but the button in the UI did toggle between keep and cut.

That's quite strange.
the latest web available version of installation is 1.2.703.05.

Metadata feature was yet implemented for ASF,WMV,WMA files only.
What kind of files do you use?

Could you upload us the sample of file you handle with and metadata copying    does not operate?

You can use any file changing services like - http://www.yousendit.com/

As to "S" short cut, for now its functionality is plitted to "S" - [keep on selected fragment] and "D" [cut off selected fragment].
What the button do you mention?

Many thanks for keeping me informed, I have now updated the software.

I was hoping you had added MPEG-1 video splitting !  

Are you likely to do this soon ?? or do you know of a good alternative that shows a resizeable preview window (preferably with drag and drop file opens).

For now we are developing MPEG-2 files support.
MPEG-1 support is also going to be added. I suppose it should be implemented in one (maximum two) months

I bought the SolveigMM Video Splitter last year and been quite happy with it except for frequent HRESULT 0x8xxxxxx type errors. These usually go away if you reload the software and redo the operation.
So, I am on the lookout for an update to fix this bug.  Also I would like to be able to process MPEG-1 files as well as AVI.
I notice your site is not working, I hope all is well - how can I get an update ?

By the way, the drag and drop is great - and so is the ability to resize the viewing screen.

In fact, such an effect can be accomplished on raw video or with re-encoding.
For the present, to prevent video quality degradation, AVI Trimmer does not use encoding/decoding processes.

Thank you for info.
As far as I undersood the Video Splitter operated properly some time and then began to deliver the error.

Did you install some more multimedia software in this period, may be some codec pack?

Also did you try to reinstall the Splitter, and what the version you have?

Could you notify what is your Operation System and its language?
Please try also to open with Video Splitter other media files like AVI, MP3, WMA. Will this problem arise?

Do you mean with other AVI files you don't have the problem?

If this is the case, specify please some points. Reinstall the Splitter and start the "problem" file. Then register the application and repeat the test.

Does the Splitter behaviour differs in these these cases.

I just installed the latest version of Klite Mega Codec Pack and I noticed the Halii splitter was selected.  I checked the box for the Windows media splitter (which shows as "recommended"), installed the codec pack and rebooted.  Then started MMVideoSplitter, chose an .avi file that wouldnt open before, split the video and it works just fine.  Happy days!  Maybe this info may be helpful to any others having a similiar problem.
