Video Splitter / Bug in latest stable release! (hangs after finish)!
« on: July 27, 2018, 07:16:05 AM »
I have encounter a bug many times now with the latest stable version where SolveigMM after splitting the sequence will hang and remain at 100%.
Only solution is to terminate the software with windows task manager. The result job is perfectly working and job has been done fine! So no harm.
Just little annoying to have to terminate the software manually. This happen to me when editing (cutting parts off) from MP4 videos.

Video Splitter / Version History or Change Log for beta releases?
« on: July 24, 2018, 10:57:45 AM »
I was wondering if there is a page to access "Version History or Change Log" for beta releases?
It is well mentioned for official releases but could not find this info for beta.

Video Splitter / Seeking in video files ( Just a suggestion) !
« on: June 19, 2017, 07:58:10 AM »
I am newly using SolveigMM Video Splitter and as I have mentioned in the other thread I posted I find this software to be in many ways superior to the other commercial ones.
But by using it I came across one issue that I though I would share here and I believe that fixing this will take the editing experience with this software to a new level. The main
job when editing video content is to seek and find the exact place you want to set you markers. This can take more or less time and become easy or complicated depending on
how the software works.

Seeking in SolveigMM Video Splitter works kind of like Windows Media Player. When using the seekbar with your mouse pulling it back and forth will not show the video content.
Once you release the mouse you will see the content at the location you have positioned the seeker. For this you have to use the keyboard shortcuts (right and left) to go to next
K Frames and then use CNTL right or left to get the exact position. While this behavior is good and enough for a media player, in my view it's not the best for a good editing software.

To explain what I exactly mean, I have uploaded a very short video (30 secs) that shows how the seeking is done in other editing software. https://youtu.be/N821q3H2t9A
I have used adobe premiere for this example, but other more simple software like VideoReDo or ones as simple as virtualdub have the same behavior when seeking video files.

I don't know how complicated it can be to change and add an option for this feature in SolveigMM Video Splitter. But if it can be done, it will certainly be a huge improvement.

First of all congratulations for this great software. It's very effective and easy to use and supports many file types.
After long search and use of many other software this is THE ONLY ONE you should need to get the job done.

I have encountered a little problem with some MKV files (They have VP9 video and Opus audio). As soon as you open
the file you get an error message from videosplitter: "Unable to get source file length", and it will crash the software.

I was wondering if I was missing a 3rd party codec or if there is anything to be done on my side to fix the problem.
I can upload a sample video for you to test. But as an example any MKV video from youtube will result in the same error
as well. (for your information I am using SolveigMM Video Splitter on Windows10 pro.)

Looking forward to a response from the support team or any user who may have an answer to this :)
