Hello flugal,

Tried to reproduce your problem with installed Combined Community Codec Pack 2011-06-26,  but with no  success.

Could you please send us screenshots of Combined Community Codec Pack settings? (to support(at)solveigmm(dot)com)

Do you have any other installed codec packes on the PC, where the problem arises?

Thank you in advance.

Hello flugal 123qazrq,

I can not seem to figure out how to contact you directly.  When I click on your profile, an option to send private message does not appear.  All other boards that I am on, you can, so maybe I am just missing something. If you can let me know how to send you a message directly, I can give you my personal information.

Please cotact us via support(at)solveigmm(dot)com.

By the way, to send private message to the forum user, just go to the user profile and click on the small envelope picture.

The beta version that I am using, by the way, is not displaying actual shots from the movies, just looks like about the size of maybe that part of an image from screen in the movie - 1/2"by 1".  I know it should display an actual screen from the video file, but it's not, and if I move through the timeline of the movies, they are not changing.    I have tried with many different video files, but I just can't seem to get it to work.  I don't know if you have ever tried TMPGenc Video Mastering Works (it only does re-encodes), but there timeline with images is extremely well done, and I think that is what you are after with your timeline images.

This feature will work in the release of Video Splitter 3.0 verison. It is not working properly in this beta version.

Another good feature that would be good to implement, is additional arrow buttons that you could use to "fast forward" and "backwards" in a video file. Make them click-able multiple times to increase the speed forward or backwards at variable speeds - 1 click +2X, 2 clicks +3X, 3 clicks +4x...(not sure exactly what speeds would be best, maybe if I had access to a demo that would give me an option of choosing multipliers to play with adjusting to see what speed increases are optimal, or maybe it could be in the options for an individual to set their own multipliers per click, which would probably be even sweeter!) and then clicking the play or pause button would return back to normal speed in forward mode.  The advantages of this is if you know what scene you are looking for, you can find it more quickly and easier than trying to hole the timeline and sliding it, because the variable speed controls would go through the file much more smoothly than with a mouse.  Its a feature in tmpgenc that works very well, and it would be a great addition to yours as well.

I think it is useful feature. Probably we will implement it in future releases.
Many thanks fo all your suggestions.

Hello flugal 123qazrq,

> Tried the beta, it hangs when it gets to an edit,  doesn't crash, but just hangs there, on a mkv.
Could you please upload this file to any file host service and please specify time codes of your fragment.

> One feature that would be a great thing to incorporate into the programs, would be an option to remember the time codes when editing many episodes or series...

You can use Batch Manager for such task. Choose the fragment you would like to save, then go to Tools-> Batch Manager-> Add Task to Batch Queue. Then open another file and repeat the file additing to the Batch Queue.

Then go to Tools-> Batch Manager-> Start Batch Processing. Video Splitter will create all needed fragments.

> Another option would be good, would be if you could have a list displayed on the side, that would have each edit listed...

Thank you for your suggestion, we will think over it and possibly add in future.

HyperCam / Re: Record Video Codec for DVD
« on: November 03, 2011, 06:53:14 PM »
Hello howertoneng,

We have tested compatibility of different DirectShow MPEG-2 compressors with HyperCam, but HyperCam can not find/use them for some reason.
When we will have the solution, I will post here the link of compressor you need to download.

Thank you for your patience.

HyperCam / Re: Record Video Codec for DVD
« on: November 02, 2011, 03:33:26 PM »
Hello howertoneng,

Thank you for your letter.

Unfortunately it is not possible to record directly to e.g. VOB format.

But  you can do it without the reencoding by the following way:

1) Install DirectShow MPEG-2 compressor and set it in HyperCam options.

2) Then change the format of file using your dvd authoring software (e.g. Nero), to change it e.g. from ASF to VOB. It will change the file container, but not the data of the file (video) itself.

Video Splitter / Re: Cannot unistall to install new version?
« on: November 01, 2011, 04:35:47 PM »
Hello Ollie,

Do you have any news about Video Splitter uninstallation?

Please follow this steps:

1) Go to Start -> Run and enter the "regedit.exe"to the opened window, click OK. The Registry window will appear.
2) Delete the following strings from the Registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\SolveigMM Video Splitter

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\SolveigMM Video Splitter 2.5.1110.27

This will clear the list with several Video Splitter versions from "Programs and Features".

3) If you have some antivirus program installed on your PC, then please turn it off before you will start the uninstallation.

4) Make sure that the antivirus program is not active and then try to launch the Video Splitter uninstallation (as administrator).

Please let us know if this will help you.

HyperCam / Re: Sound didn't record
« on: October 26, 2011, 03:20:14 PM »
Hello Hypercam_fan,

Thank you for your feedback.

It is not entirely clear how you can hear the sound recording from your desktop and at the same time stereo mix setting is not working?

What sound from your desktop do you hear? May be it is only mouse clicks? Or the sound recording doesn't work only when you try to record video from some web-site? If am right, please specify what is it.

Video Splitter / Re: fails to work
« on: October 25, 2011, 02:59:33 PM »
Hello Pandrew3,

Thank you for contacting us.

Video Splitter use codecs for 32-bit systems. Please try to install such codecs, e.g. from the links below:

http://www.windows7codecs.com/

http://www.codecguide.com/

If this will not help then could you please send us the log files?

To get them:

1) Download the archiv below:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18960201/LoggingForSplitter.zip
2) Launch the "EnableLOG.reg" file to start log files recording.
3) Launch Video Splitter and open the file with which you have the crash.
4) When the crach will happen, go to C:\Documents and Settings\User_name\My_documents\Solveig Multimedia\Logs and send us please (support(at)solveigmm(dot)com) all its content.
5) To disable log files recording launch the "DisableLOG.reg" file.

Thanks in advance.
