Hello bamoffthelip,

Thank you for your post and please excuse for possible inconveniences.

Actually, this is the wrong behaviour of AVI Trimmer, it should not let you save the output file with the same name as the input into one folder.

Do you use the latest version from AVI Trimmer + MKV's home page (2.0.1204.27)?
We have not reproduced the crash, but there are really some problems if the user would like to save the output to the same folder as input and under the same name.

So, if you use the latest version, could you please upload the original file for we could reproduce the crash also?
You can use any file host service, e.g. filedropper.com or dropbox.com.

Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Olga Krovyakova

I was able to recover it with no problem using a freeware program called Recovery. All is well  :)

I tried trimming an AVI video by saving a middle section. When I went to save it, I tried to save it as the original file name in the same folder. The process crashed and now I've lost the entire video file. Any tips on how I might recover it?  :-[
