Video Splitter / unusable

Hello

The line above the thumbnails is shifted beyond the upper edge when starting, so that the program cannot be used. Is there a reset of the window? Every click in the window opens "open file".
I also noticed earlier that this line is always somewhere else.

Please help.

Video Splitter / mkv can't be loaded

Sometimes I would like to trim mkv videos. (from youtube) But I get always the message "some files are corrupted or not supported"
I thought mkv files are supported...?? Version

Video Splitter / New Timeline is not better / feedback for 7.3

Hello

I'm a experienced user of the splitter. Tried out 7.3. There is no advantage in the new functions of timeline. Before: 2 Steps to cut out: set start, set end, cut out automatic.
Now 3 steps are necessary: set marker, set marker, decide to cut or keep, mark space between markers.
Only advantage: pointing with mouse possible. But: the shown movie flips constantly between the position of the grey mouse pointer and the yellow real playback marker, if mouse is over timeline.
that all makes editing more complicated and susceptible to mistakes.
Was better before, I'll go back to previous versions.

real better functions would be: a real time fast foreward playback mode (no jumps) /
more (time subdivisions 2s!) and bigger/smaller options for the thumbs in the timeline...

bugs:
generally not working since 7.0: picture mode: It is shown the same picture for seconds...
MKV, downloaded from youtube, cannot be loaded.

Video Splitter / Syncronisation with a video player needed

I cut many vids and it costs much time to find the right places. Solveig Video cutter has no comfortable forward function, so I do forwarding with a player. (VLC)
Here I can forward without skipping any scene until 16times speed.
The Problem: I have to adjust the location in VS after I found one right location with the player.
Any idea how to syncronise the playbacktime of the player with the playbacktime of VS with one click?

Video Splitter / always Runtime Error

Since the last windows update (KB4040724) for windows 10 ver 1703 videosplitter gets "Runtime Error" every few minutes and the programm will be closed. "This application has requested the runtime to terminate in a unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information." It happens with all kind of videos. I tried installing a newer beta version 6.1 1709 29, but it's the same. At all the programm is not very stable and crashes sometimes.

Video Splitter / Tool needend for scene/cam changes in videos (not Keyframes)

Hello

The program is good but:
I edit many mp4. h264 videos every day and the mainproblem is to find the right places to set the markers quickly. It costs too much time. The function to navigate to next keyframe is good, but by far not all cam/scene changes (cuts) are on keyframes. It depends on the video. So the only thing I can do is to use the picture mode, but to switch in it takes too long. (I have a fast systerm) Or take the arrow keys to find them. Imagine you want to cut out 20-50 scenes per video, it takes too long. Adobe Speedgrade has such a scene change detection in it. I would be very glad, if you could implement such a tool in the video splitter.
Furthermore for better overview it would be fine when the timeline (thumbs) could not be only one line. If it would have two or more (adjustable), more thumbs could be loaded in advance. At the end of the line I have to wait for the next thumbs. It depends on the video how fast they load. Next thumbs should be loaded bevore the cursor is on its end.
In the navigation please implement adjustable jumps in frames like 2,5,10 frames.

Video Splitter / Wishes for the programm....

Hello,
I've used the programm now for some time and miss some features:
I wish to have the possibility to play a video faster: 2x,3x,4x. Its possible to jump in the video, but that's not the same.
The storyboard pictureview is good, but should could be organized in more lines, (or second Monitor or window) that would show incoming scenes earlier and would offer more overview. The zoom function is good, but I wish to have one or two more between 1s and picturemode: half second and qarter second for example.
Both would make video editing faster and more efficient.
Also it would be nice to have a really display zoomfunction at the pitcurepreview, because the thumbs are tiny in a longer run, if you want to find the right scenes. The film holestrips on both sides are a nice gimmick but not necessary and rather hindering.
