General Discussion / Re: Which video editing software should I study first?
« on: November 07, 2018, 02:49:28 PM »
Hello Tonny91,
We do not have a specific tools for making a video, but we have product for the screencasting and video editing.
If you need to capture your screen actions, you can check the HyperCam - it allows you to record your screen, your web-camera and sound from the system, microphone or other available devices.

If you already have a video which you want to edit, you can use one of our editing products - Video Splitter, WMP trimmer plug-in or AVI Trimmer +. They provide a number of different methods to work with your video.

Video Splitter / Re: Various issues
« on: November 07, 2018, 02:25:11 PM »
Hello vertigo,
Thank you for the report.
Please find below some comments:
1, 2) The file loading time and freezes when working with the file may depend on the file itself. Could you please send that file to our technical support with the reference to the current thread. You can use any file sharing services, like Dropbox or Google Drive. To make sure that the file is unchanged, it is recommended to pack the file into a zip-archive.
3) Copying and pasting works only with the specifically formatted values. Video Splitter supports 2 time formats:
 - hh:mm:ss;FRAME - where FRAME is a number of the frame in current second (takes 2 places). The value is separated by the semicolon.
 - hh:mm:ss,MS - where MS is a value of milliseconds (takes 3 places). The value is separated by the comma.
4) By default the time value is represented in hh:mm:ss;FRAME format. See #3 above
5) I suppose that "disappearing" in this case is a collapsing feature - when you work in "Cut" mode and you set a start and a stop markers for the interval, the interval collapses automatically. You can expand it back by double clicking the collapsed marker. You can also disable this feature from the preferences: "View" - "Collapse intervals marked as cut out".

As for the others - we'll check them and try to fix in future releases.

Hello mydarkpassenger,

The behavior you described is not completely correct. In the current version of Video Splitter you can select the mode (Cut or Keep) which defines what type the interval between start and stop markers will have. Comparing to previous versions, in this case you don't have to additionally specify the interval type after setting markers.

it won't let me specify an end marker and beginning mark on a new frame which means I have to move the frame one forward before I can save a clip (3 steps in instead of 1).

This is not correct. You can still use the 'old' way of interval marking: set only one type of markers, the end of each interval is still the start of the next interval, you don't have to move one frame further. After that you can specify which interval to keep and which to cut with a context menu or hotkeys. Please keep in mind, that actions will be applied to currently selected interval - the one in which a slider is located.

Video Splitter / Re: selecting part to delete
« on: September 14, 2018, 07:19:42 PM »
Hello isurfsafe,
From your screenshot I can see that you have "Keep" mode selected. which means that the begin marker would set a beginnig of the "Keep" interval, and end marker sets the end of the "Keep" interval. The cut-intervals automatically collapsed when you work in a "Cut" mode.
You can collapse the cut interval manually in your mode - just double-click the cut interval and you'll see how collapsing works. To expand the interval back you should double-click the collapsed marker.
The interval which is bright is considered a "keep" interval, the one that is dark is the "cut" interval.

Video Splitter / Re: Version History or Change Log for beta releases?
« on: July 27, 2018, 05:20:55 PM »
Hello birdy,
In general, when we update a beta version, we post a link to it in a thread with a problem description as a report of the problem solving, so we never did a beta-version change log. If we decide to make such log we'll definitely post it.

145
Hello birdy,
This problem is already fixed with the latest version 6.1.1807.24. Please update your current version and try again. But if it is not the case, please share more details.

Hello Vladimir M,
The problem should be fixed in the latest beta version (6.1.1807.17).
Please check it.

Video Splitter / Re: How do I insert one clip into another?
« on: July 10, 2018, 01:42:43 PM »
If it is possible, please record your actions and send them to our support or to me directly with some comments.

Oh, and how do you "collapse the interval", as you mentioned in step 5?

You can collapse a "Cut Out" interval with mouse double-click inside that interval. To expand the collapsed interval you should double-click the marker representing collapsed interval.

Video Splitter / Re: How do I insert one clip into another?

Hello vertigoelectric,
You can add clips into the middle of the file the same way as you do to the beginning or to the end: you just drag the file you want to be inserted and drop to the necessary position pointed by the mouse cursor. To correctly drop the file it is recommended to select a suitable zoom level.

The other way you can insert your file in the middle of the other file is as follows: let's say you have 2 files in MEDIA: F1 and F2 and you want to place F2 in the middle of F1.
1)Place the F1 to the timeline.
2)Find a position you would like to insert the second file to.
3)Put the BEGIN marker to that position and END marker to the end of the file
4)Mark this interval as "Cut out" if it is not.
5)You may collapse the interval for your convenience.

6)Add the F2 to the end of F1.
7)One more time add the F1 file to the end of F2.
8)Put the BEGIN marker to the end of the second F1 and END marker to the position you find in 2)
9)Mark the interval as "Cut Out"
