Zond 265, ver. 2, with a bunch of new features is released and available for evaluation at http://www.solveigmm.com/en/products/zond/

The highlights:

- Detection of HEVC stream errors. Available in “Error” tab and as CLI report
- H.264/AVC support in release mode
- Mac OS X version of Zond for HEVC streams

Additional features include:

- Support of MPEG-2 Transport Stream for HEVC/H.265 and AVC/H.264 streams
- Compatible with the reference software HM 16.2
- Support of 4:4:4, 4:2:2, 4:0:0 chroma format for HEVC

Hello,

Quite often we get different questions of how ZOND shows this and that.

For example -  Can you please tell me if the frame statistics you do include the number of Intra and Inter modes in the frame?

1 - Switching on "prediction partition" layout you can visually see types of CUs. All red CUs are intra and the rest are inter ones.

2 - In "frame statistics" tab it's shown intra/inter CU types info as a percentage ratio and a number of pixels they take

3 - In "elements" list  you can see "intra pred modes" to shows a number of bits intra modes take in the frame. Inter mode consists of mvd + merge_idx + merge_flag + inter_dir_pu + mvp_flag + ref_idx elements

Zond 265, HEVC Analyzer version 1.9 is out
The new edition of the software was primarily unveiled during the IBC 2014 exhibition in Amsterdam on September 12 – 16.

Features and improvements:

- Optimized processing of 4K files. The new Zond 265 reveals fivefold speed-up in handling UltraHD 4K files (as tested on PC Intel Core i7-2600 3.4GHz, 16GB RAM, Windows 7 x64)
- H.264/AVC video elementary streams are now supported in beta mode.

- Compatibility with the reference software HM 14
- CLI reports can now have CU data for entire frame as well as frame and stream statistics
- Different stages of picture decoding in command line mode (final, after deblock, before deblock, residual, predicted) can now be saved as YUV files
- Resizable layout. The minimal width limitation has been discarded.

ZOND 265 new version 1.8 is released. It gets around 60% faster and brings a number of handy features. It’s a Linux version, quality estimation with most popular PSNR and MSSIM metrics; command line interface workflow; HEVC specification quotes and references for most of syntax elements; enhanced floating license server;

Quality estimation comparing original YUV file with preloaded HEVC file by PSNR and MSSIM metrics

Solveig Multimedia releases a new version of Video Splitter that comes with AVI and FLV frame-accurate editing feature

Solveig Multimedia has finished the fourth version of its lossless video editor. Video Splitter 4 features frame-precise editing of AVI files and smart splitting of videos, supports FLV videos and presents a number of new functions, improvements and changes.

Indeed, this tool for lossless video editing that blends impressive functionality with high quality and fast processing speed. The advanced technology developed by SolveigMM for the Video Splitter 4 allows the program to keep 99 percent of video data intact by transcoding merely few frames in the beginning and in the end of the video.

SolveigMM Video Splitter 4 is a new major update of this video editing framework introducing several important novelties including. First, the new version supports the FLV format support. Changes:
 - A zoom mode changed. A filter was applied that altered visual pixels in a picture zoomed in. Cancelled
 - Zond is now automatically launched in Google Chrome (if installed) despite of what browser is default one.
 - New values in fields of HRD Buffer (bitrate, framerate. etc. ) are updated by Enter keyboard button (as well as by “Rebuild”)
 - “Recent Files” drop-down list is not any more closed if a mouse pointer goes up

 - Sometimes if to close Zond browser tab, the process was not killed and remained running
