Hello zeroFX,

This tab is used to set preferred encoder and decoder for smart trimming operation (reencoding part of file ) when frame accurate editing is enabled.
It works not for all formats. Actually only for AVI and WMV files.

Yes, for TS, and MKV with AVC1 and MPEG2 video codecs this tab is not used.

We are developing WTV DirectShow Demuxer and Muxer filters.
Filters are based and use LGPL ffmpeg project.

Here is the link to download filters:

Features:

- Demux and Mux video and audio streams from/to WTV container
- Display WTV files metadata in Demuxer's prop page
- Copy metadata from the original file when remux (optional checkbox in Muxer's prop page)

One feature that would be a great thing to incorporate into the programs, would be an option to remember the time codes when editing many episodes or series.  Many times, the episodes have the exact same time edits, like when the titles play in each episode and when the credits start, so it would be great to not have to find all the edit points each time when they are in exactly the same place, or even if they are just off by a bit, its still easier to adjust minor amounts than have to search through each video file again and again and again....

Latest SolveigMM_Video_Splitter_3_7_Beta  has an option to apply project settings (intervals, and selected streams) on opened files.

To enable it  use "Tools->Preferences". Under "Control Tab" check "Apply project settings(intervals, selected streams) on opened files".

You will need to remove our codec from the recording before you can play the recording in MPC or VLC etc.

I've replicate the problem.
SMM Video Splitter uses codecs installed on computer. Seems G2M Session decoder doesn't work correctly.
There is the same issue with MPC player( and any player that uses DShow technology).

I've posted question on gotomeeting website about it

Hello Arney,

Please, specify which version of Video Splitter you use.

Also we need the source media file + intervals as an example  that you have selected  for trimming. (You can use any file hosting service)
I suppose source media file is playing fine on that interval both in vlc and WMP.

Tell the version of VLC you are using.
Do you run x64 version of Win7 or x32?
Did you try to play trimmed file on other computer using windows media player?

There is an update that merges 3.3 and 3.2 versions changes
SolveigMM_Video_Splitter_3_5_Beta

This should resolve issue with changing audio track and some others.

Could you post the files and intervals you select  that doesn't work using latest beta to reproduce it by our support team?

да с AVCHD поведение будет таким же.
AVC1 видео кодек с потрями каждое перекодирование ( именно оно происходит при резке с точностью до кадра) будет ухудшать качество изображения (перекодированного фрагмента).
Возможно (если сильно заметное искажение) какие-то настройки при перекодировании выставлены неверно.
Можете привести кусочек видео отрезанный с точностью до группы кадров - "Точность до кадра (Умный режим) " выключить?

Hello snapcoyote, as i see the source video before_split.wmv has the same pauses after seeking in vlc related to audio as the trimmed one. So I think  that it's not VideoSplitter problem. I'll try to find out why this happens.

Could you also tell what kind of encoder server is used and which version of Mainconcept encoder. I need to know complete intialization params which was set to encoder. Params that you wrote before is not enough.

So it is not possible to partially encode using the default Microsoft VC1 Encoder when the file is encoded using Mainconcept?

Not Exactly. It's possible, but with it's own parameters.
Check this version SolveigMM_Video_Splitter_3_0_1205_30_Beta
Trimmed file should play fine using Windows Media Player, WM Video Decoder, Mainconcept VC1 decoder.
But it crashes VLC player and hangs on ffdshow video decoder if libavcodec is set for VC1.

VC1 spec says that  sequence layer(decoding params) could be changed during the stream. so such files are valid, but for vlc and libavcodec seems it's not.

Are there other available free VC1 codecs I can use that are compatible with Mainconcept?

I don't think that it exists.
