Solveig delivers Zond 265 ver. 4 with extended codec compatibility and reporting


The 4th edition of Solveig Multimedia's Zond 265 adds support for AV1, SCC and MPEG-2 as video elementary stream.

JANUARY 17, 2018. Solveig Multimedia, a leader in video editing and customizable multimedia, announces a new version of its Zond 265 – HEVC Video analyzer, version 4.

Zond 265 was the pioneering analytical tool addressing the 'High Efficiency Video Coding' (HEVC) standard, aka H.265. Since 2012, Solveig has offered a HEVC/H.265 bit stream analyzer that enables software developers to design and implement H.265-compliant software and codecs.

Zond 265 brings along tangible results boosting R&D and QA processes and reducing validation costs. The software displays NAL information, frames types, frames sizes, time stamps, decoding/display order counters, bits distribution between frame elements, coding units data and many more details.

What’s new in ver. 4?

Features:

  • AOMedia Video 1 (AV1) codec is supported in WebM format. Compatible with reference software 2017.12.21
  • MPEG-2 codec is supported as video elementary streamTwitch and YouTube streaming of game sessions or video blogs
  • HEVC Screen Content Coding Extension (SCC) supported
  • MP4 Dash segmented and fragmented format is supported for HEVC and AVC
  • Reports generation in CVS or JSON in GUI with adjustable level of reporting (frame stats, headers, coding unit, PSNR, etc.)

Improvements:

  • Fixed GoPro HD5 MP4 AVC file opening issues
  • Revamped report generation for AVC from CLI
  • Fixed issues with AVC intra PU mode for 16x16
