HyperCam 3.0: an Efficient yet Affordable Tool for Video Screen Capture!

December 8, 2009 - Solveig Multimedia and Hyperionics LLC announce the release of HyperCam 3.0, a jointly developed utility for capturing screen actions and saving them as .AVI files. Though HyperCam may be used just for grabbing a movie, it has been chiefly acknowledged as an excellent tool for creating video presentations and tutorials. The new version has several new features, such as grabbing video in overlay mode and encoding captured sound. Moreover, it is remarkable for Media Editor feature and the improved interface, which has become more user-friendly.

Why has HyperCam gained significant popularity? Though highly efficient, the tool is quite affordable at the same time. Users of any profession can benefit from using HyperCam: it is so easy to make a clip of home video, to create a pictorial presentation to illustrate a lesson, to compose a screencast commercial or a promo tape.

The structure of HyperCam window is clear enough: besides the main window, there are optional ones: Recent Records, Screen Notes and Help. The Screen Notes window contains pop-up text notes, which can make the movie more informative. By the way, the Help window will be of great benefit for those who try HyperCam for the first time. It shows the necessary information on any button or field once the cursor points at it. There is no need to consult the complex Help like in other programs: everything is explained instantly.

The settings, however, are not at all complicated. Before clicking the Record button, the user should set the record area (Region/Fullscreen/Window) and proceed to the Options window, which has four tabs: Video, Audio, Interface and Extras. The Video tab contains the list of available video compressors, the frame frequency and the location of output folder; on the Audio tab it is possible to enable Sound Recording option, to choose the sound recording device and the audio compressor; the Interface tab deals with recording borders and hotkeys; and the Extras tab contains, perhaps, the most interesting features, such as capturing of semi-transparent windows, omitting the cursor, and adding starburst on mouse clicks.

As soon as the necessary options are selected, the big red Record button can be pushed. To make the video more dynamic, the user can enable the panning mode, so that the capture area will follow the cursor. When the recording is over, the .AVI file can be found in the Recent Records window and played back. If the result needs some amendments, the HyperCam Media Editor allows removing certain video fragments. Finally, the pictorial presentation (or a useful tutorial) is ready!
